What Is 3B: Blocus, Boycott et Brigades?

3B (Blocus, Boycott et Brigades) is a complete, French-language cyberpunk and post-cyberpunk tabletop RPG about resistance, solidarity, and collective direct action. The game is structured around a group of Brigadistes (player characters chosen from 12 Horizons de lutte — struggle archetypes ranging from Bloc Noir to Hacktiviste, Médic de Terrain to Syndicaliste Sauvage) facing concrete political Situations (evictions, labour accidents, fascist organising, oppressive legislation) against a named, embodied Autorité. The game uses an original d60 resolution system: players roll a combination of a re-labelled d6 (giving tens: 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50) and a standard d10 (giving units), producing results from 1 to 60, where each value has exactly 1-in-60 probability. This base-60 choice is philosophically grounded — the most divisor-rich number below 100, the ancient Sumerian standard. Resolution compares the roll against a Seuil in six outcome zones: Catastrophe (55–60, always possible regardless of stats), Failure, Partial Success, Strong Success, Major Success. Characters have 4 Capital types (Economique, Culturel, Social, Relationnel), 12 dualised Compétences, and an Aliénation ↔ Liberté cursor. The complete rulebook is available free online across 11 chapters, with a free PDF download. Licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

French-speaking TTRPG players who want politically engaged, punk, cyberpunk tabletop experiences with a deeply original mechanical system

Competitive Moat

Original d60 resolution system with 12 dualised competencies and explicit anti-catastrophe design philosophy is mechanically unlike any published TTRPG

Final Verdict

3B is exceptional. In a market full of retro-clones and D&D variants, Joachim Mouffron has designed a game with a genuine mechanical identity and an unapologetically political voice. The d60 system is theoretically rigorous — that catastrophe is always possible regardless of skill is a profound design statement about the nature of collective action. The French-language focus may limit its international reach, but for francophone players this is arguably the most ambitious and original TTRPG released in French. Score: 9.1/10.
